Sweet Canvas Decor - Crop Stop Post

Evening Friends!  I thought I was all savvy today and had this scheduled to post for me - ha! So here I am rewriting because said post is completely MIA?!  Is that even possible? In my tech world apparently it is... totally giggling over here...so you live, learn, and re-post.

Tissue paper, stamping with paint, layers of tape, stenciling with pastes all come together to create the first layers on this 11x14 stretched canvas.  I also used some of my favorite mists - Dylusions and Color Shine - swoon!
This week on the Crop Stop blog I have another canvas creation posted.  Yahoo, I am making a dent in my rather large canvas stash and I couldn't be more ecstatic about that!  This was actually the first project I created upon getting my package of goodies before Christmas but since it was a doozie I decided to wait a bit and work up to it. ;)

I was giddy when I saw this Crafter's Workshop stencil in my guest DT package - oh my!  I had never seen this one and well goodness I adore cutie houses in case you didn't know and this stencil is too much fun and works like a dream!
This canvas was created for my niece's Christmas present.  She has put a little bug in my SIL's ear saying she would love to have a canvas from me and I was more than delighted to oblige.  She is my little artsy kindred spirit.

Couture Creations Damask Serenity Collection Limited Edition Embossing Folder used here - if you want it go get it now! I mean its limited and all. :)
Embossing patterned paper with a gesso wash over it is going to be a readily used technique by me - just saying.  I've been doing this now for a good month and love it!

ScrapFX hot air balloon, hand carved sun stamp (picture on Instagram @kndr2tch), clouds outlined with Caran D'Ache pastels, and houses colored lightly with Pan Pastels.
My sneaky peek of the finished piece!!  I really, really wanna show it all to you... but..... I really, really would like for you to visit the Crop Stop blog as well please.  They have been so gracious to me this month and well shucks, I only have one more week left...sigh... time flies when you're having you're having a blast.  You'll also get some more in depth deets of what I did to create this piece so it is surely worth the pop over I hope. :)

Thanks for spending time with me! I'll gladly do the same, let me know you here.  Take good care and if you are having weather anything like we are in WI - brrrr! - stay warm.

  3. I love that stencil, too, and the artist who created it, Karen Ellis, has a store about 30-40 minute drive from where I live. I've taken a class with her at a crop, but hope to take a few more this year. She's a wonderful person and I know she'd be thrilled to see what you created with it - you must contact her - her email will be on her site: http://www.thearthousestudio.ca/
Off to see the full reveal at Crop Stop! YOU rock!
