Skissedilla #195 - Remember the Time

Hey, Hey, Hey!  Whelp, yesterday we had crazy weather and my internet was shaky, shaky.  So sorry I couldn't get here to share the new Skissedilla sketch with you all!  So without further waiting here we go....

Oh how I loved this week's sketch! Isn't is delightful?  So many possibilities waiting to be unleashed with your photo being featured front and center!!!  I had about a zillion ideas going through my head; it was so hard to narrow them all down for real.  But alas I did.

The background here was created by using some Liquitex molding paste and a Crafter's Workshop stencil - once dry I inked it up with some Tsukineko ink and misted to my heart's content.
I warmed up my frozen self this week by scrappin' away with tons of warm colors.  I just love the way Dylusions and Color Shine play together!!

Lots of shimmer going on in this shot - swoon!  ScrapFX rope frame held up by my airplane paperclip - lots of other fun bits and pieces from October Afternoon and A Flair for Buttons ( <--- br="" michelle="" thank="" you="">
Here you get to see a little bit of the picture a bit better - I just adore this pen of calves!!!  I couldn't believe that when I stopped by to take these pictures they all lined up for me!!!  How cool is that?? It actually started out as two calves - there will be more LOs with the story of how they got to this line up so stay tuned. ;) Its also pretty amazing this shot was taken this past December!  No snow??!  Craziness and it was incredibly warm as well.

More October Afternoon goodies here - don'tcha just love the girl and cow??! I kid you not I had to have the farm girl paper pad for these!!!  Well the mason jars were total selling points too!  Metal fence piece and more ScrapFX goodies to help round out the whole country theme and my journaling is hidden on the tag tucked behind the burlap.
Lots of fun farm layers to complete this country lovin' girl's LO.  Sigh.... someday I will have my own cows - at least that is what hubbie tells me!! :)

Now head on over to Skissedilla, won't you - tons of spectacular inspiration awaits you there from my fellow DT members!  I promise you will not be disappointed.  Not mention you need to link up because this week there is a super cool prize being offered up by Badges Folie!!!  if you haven't checked out this amazing shop - you must!  Totally rockin' fab badges and more!!

Have good Mondays - and thanks so much for stopping by!!!

In Case You Missed Them

Happy Weekend Sweet Peeps!!  I've shared a ton a sneak peeks on my blog lately and thought I'd share a few of the reveals today from ScrapFX.  This past month I've had a lot of fun over there working with new Steampunk pieces that were released in December.

I adore this picture of my son - its on a day we hung out together this past December.  He struck this pose on his own in front of an old bank structure in our town.  The journaling talks about how each moment with him is becoming more precious every day as we near the time for him to fly on his own.  Next year he'll be a senior and I can hardly believe it.  Where does the time go?
For this page I challenged myself to use some of the Steampunk pieces I really liked and combine them with a whimsy style.  I wasn't quite sure at first how it was all going to play out but in the end I'd say it meshed together quite well.  Who would have thought?  Well, I guess I did - teehee! So if you're thinking Steampunk isn't for you.... I dare you to use your imagination!

I love, love the ScrapFX micro cogs (and the mini cogs too)!!  It was so much turning these cutie lil' pieces in to flowers for the vine corner.
This card was made and sent to the Sandy Hook Elementary School along with a few others.  I again went with a non-traditional approach to Steampunk.  I wanted to use cheery colors to brighten the teacher's and student's days and I like the touch of elegance the vine corner and doilies bring.

This is probably my favorite project out of all of them and will go down as a favorite page in general!  Not only do I adore the ScrapFX pieces and stencil embellishments I used on it but the meaning behind the page as whole is near and dear to me.  I won't get in to all the nitty gritty.  You can read that on the ScrapFX blog if you'd like. Just know I really needed this day to happen. :)

Tons of techniques were jammed packed on all the chippies for the above pages and on the LOs I created lots of embellishments using the ScrapFX stencils.  I've shared some of these details on the ScrapFX blog, but some I've held back because we have a super cool treat in store for you coming up real soon - like February which is right around the corner!!! We'll be Blog Hopping and you will not be disappointed I guarantee so until then I'm going to keep some things under wraps. Don't forget there is a DT Call up and ScrapFX is so wonderful to work for! Check it out.

I'll be back tomorrow with a new LO to share using a spectacular Skissedilla sketch, until then enjoy your Saturdays!

Brrr!!!  It is freezing here!!  I'm talking it was 8 below zero the last time I looked at the thermometer.  Perfect day to blog and create, right? Right.

I'm up on the ScrapFX blog and I couldn't be more elated because I have been dying to share what is there with you, my fabulous readers!!! Ready for sneaky peeks??

Egads! Love these light bulb pieces soo very much!!! Along with making my own embellishments using ScrapFX stencils! And whats not to love about mini cog chippies all dressed up!

Why yes, another light bulb chippie!! More cogs oh my! Fabulous pointer finger guiding the eye.

More stencil action - this time traditional usage and mini cogs galore!! And of course some my favorite letters are thrown in too!!

I must say the above page is probably going to go down as an all time favorite - you must check it out!!!  But wait.... there is another one too!!! Steampunk whimsy in full effect this time!

Lovely steampunk corner dripping droplets of water - all grunged up - yet popping some color too!

Gears, clouds, raindrops, a star sequin, and a birdie, all a top some colorful papers really make me smile - what about you??  I just love the tininess of these ScrapFX cogs!!!

Skissedilla 193

Hey, hey!  Happy Sunday to you.  Hope this day brings much joy and warmth if that is needed in your neck of the woods - it sure is here - wowzers!  Its cold - only 14 so far.  Good day for scrapping I suppose, right?

Played with a glob of gesso, leftover confetti pieces from a punched border, along with some micro store bought ones, fairy dust, mist, papers - oh my I made a big ol' mess on my table creating for this week's sketch!
Lately I've been feeling rather in a rut.  Do you get that way?? I just feel like I need to change things up - not sure what I want to change yet, but something will happen. I like being an odd little duckling - and feel like I need to keep pushing myself.  So with that thought in mind I tackled this week's Skissedilla sketch.

Sketch 193
Normally I would go for a little scene here but not this time.... I played with lots of paper instead.

Many of these paper layers were already cut down and hanging out in the bags I store my 6x6 paper pads in.  I simply grabbed what suited my fancy and worked them in ways I like.  I didn't even have to punch the edge or cut the banner piece!  I stamped the feathers (lovin' my Cocoa Daisy stamps for real!!!) on to some handmade papers I've had for ages, love the soft texture of these papers - a hidden gem in my stash I need to use more frequently.
I've joined in with Michelle, of My Analog Life, to do #30bags30days.  Its a de-cluttering process and we'll document via Instagram, you can follow me @kndr2tch, before (maybe, LOL) and after. I'm going to do a full house run, but the scrap space surely needs it. ;) Its CHA time after all, I mean.... giggling.

Whatcha' think?  I still snuck my clouds in, LOL.  I'll never give those up - its like my signature I guess....I'm still longing for something more......seeking that next level......
I hate this is so dark, sorry, can't ever get good shots around here in winter no matter the time of day. Its not quite as off white in person....

I spy Cocoa Daisy stamps, ScrapFX chipboard, and lots of goopy goodness!!!
And just because I was playing with an app a collage of deets!! :)

Be sure you head over to Skissedilla and play along - we have a super selected scrapper this month as well as some out of this world new team members!!!!
