2 Red Bananas Sketch

I had a lot of fun working with this sketch today!!! I am soo glad I went to visit the blog and found it.

Here is my take on the sketch:

My 1st Tutorial!!

I am soo glad I decided to do this for the World Card Making Day crop at My Sketch World. I was a little apprehensive at first.... thinking what in the dickens will I do a card tutorial on?? LOL!!.... I am certainly no expert in card making so this turned out to be a personal mission to come up with something that would be cool for everyone to try out! I had really like the way a house shaped card I made turned and that got me to thinkin'..... what other non-traditional shapes would be cool to try out for this??

Here's what I decided on:

Let's Scrap Card Sketch

Kimmy at Let's Scrap does an awesome job providing some cool card sketches once a month. I was soo elated I had her sketch for my reveal this week!!

Here is the card I made:

I used CC papers, buttons from my stash, a Maya Road journaling square, and some ribbon from my stash. I stamped the snowman and then cut him out! I can't wait to use the sketch for some other cards! Hope to see you playing along.... there are some great goodies up for grabs, as well as some fun challenges going on.

A Couple of Retreat LOs!

No I am not a retreat, nor did I recently attend one.... someday maybe..... but I am participating in an online retreat at Let's Scrap!!! The challenge put out there is to complete all the sketches on Let's Scrap up through November..... don't quote me on that Nov. part though! I will check and confirm those deets!! Anywho, I have had oodles of fun working on all these sketches again and trying some out I never got the chance to do! Here are a couple of LOs I made recently for the retreat:

DD absolutely adores when her big bro gives her piggy back rides!!! he has been giving them to her since she was about 2 and he was 5!

Here are a couple of close ups:

Here is another one I got done:

This is of my kiddos when they were younger playing at a very cool castle playland in the mall I grew up going to. We went there on a fun trip to see family when DD was getting ready to turn 2! She loved celebrating her special day playing with her brother!!

Something New and Different

at least for me! I created a 6x12 LO. It turned out pretty cool and I think I will for sure be doing these more often for all those random little photos I have that just don't fit onto a larger size. I made this for a bonus challenge at the MSW World Card making Day crop. Yup, that's right, it's still going on!! You have the entire month to join in the fun. the cards are amazing and so is the company!

Here is my LO:

I just love this lil' cheesy photo of DD when she was about 18 months old. I never scrapped it because it was so small, but this size LO worked perfectly for it. Here is a close up:

I used Basic Grey's June Bug line for everything except the letters. Those are Thickers and MM (tiny alphas). The paw and woof buttons were in my stash.

Continuing the Celebration!

Eventhough World Card Making Day is officially over, the party hasn't stopped over at My Sketch World!!! There is a month long WCMD crop going on!! There are 10 challenges and there will be a number of tutorials posted throughout the month! Head on over and get yourself signed up! the sketches and challenges are amazing!!!

Here are some of the creations I have come up with so far:

Sketch #1 is a recipe challenge:

Sketch #2 is a color challenge. You must use the colors Dark brown, dark beige, harvest orange, and green somewhere on the card.

Sketch #3 calls for 2 types of distressing to be used. I chose to do inking and crumpling.... so wanted to do the edges, but can't find it anywhere!! UGH!

Sketch #5 is to do a girl or boy card, any theme, with the specifications listed. This is my favorite card I have made so far!!

I just love this Earth Love line from Cosmo Cricket!! heck, who am I kidding???..... I love ALL Cosmo Cricket!! LOL!

Thanks for peeking at my card creations! Be sure to stay tuned throughout the month for more card yumminess, links to great tutorials, and my 1st ever tutorial will be coming at'cha on the 22nd!!! You won't wanna miss it..... the card is too stinkin' cute!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!!

What a cool day to celebrate! I must say I have always enjoyed making cards since I was a kid. I love making creations with that special someone in mind wondering what their thought will be when they open their card. I just love to think of the little smile my card may bring to someone! And I totally love to receive them too!

So in celebrating this fun day I thought it was appropriate to share my card creations made today and over the past couple of days! I have for sure been a busy card maker.

I'll start with 2 Sketches 4 You. I just discovered this cutie lil' blog and lemme' tell you the sketches are fabulous!! The inspiration is equally as wonderful! they have a fun blog hop goin on right now, as well as a sketch. You still have a few hours to get in on the goods!

Here is what I made using their World Card Making Day Sketch:

Such a cool sketch to use!

MSW October 1st Reveal

Ok, so I know this is a day late, but my plans to upload, post, and blog were foiled by a power outage last night!! Gggrrrr! DD was in the bathroom, poor thing, and about had a heart attack!!

So here is the awesome sketch from Lucy:

So very cool!!! Loved working with it!

Here is my take titled Partners in Crime:

I just love these pics of my kiddos a few Christmas' back. They soo adored these cowboy hats and wore them for years after. I literally had to throw them away on the sneak!! LOL!

And a close up:

Supplies: Patterned papers: MME, letters - Thickers, MM, and BG, tickets were created with stamps and so were the words through thick and thin, buttons were from my stash.

Stay tuned for more scrappy goodness to come! I have been a busy girl lately! :0)
