Online Haps, a Few Projects, and a Bloggy Break

Hi Friends. Its been awhile. How's it going in your neck of the woods? Fall has certainly arrived around here and its cold! Totally bummin' that the transition from Fall like pleasant weather went to cold so quickly. But Mother Nature has a mind of her own so we'll go with it LOL.

Alright so let's get at the list of things from the title of this post.

Miss Wally, owner of The Chip Chop Shop, is having a giveaway!!! You may remember my post about receiving a parcel of goodies from her shop here. Well lemme tell you I'm ready to go back and shop because I've used almost all of the items I picked up! I can't share them here just yet, but can't wait until I can. Scrapbook News and Review has a couple new events that went live this past week. Gauche Alchemy and EK Success Halloween. Lots of Crate Paper used on this along with some inking, rock candy crackle paint, and some glitter glue.

New Grade


Its sad to say my son started 10th grade this year and I'm just now sharing this card. Oh boy. I've got a lot of back projects, LOL. I used some My Mind's Eye and The Girls' Paperie (I'll miss them and can't wait to try out Authentique). Lots of layering of patterned papers, a bit of hand-stitching to secure the banner in place, and some button love.

Rippin' Good Time


This is one of my all time fav LOs showing off some Cosmo Cricket lovin'. I loved this beach line and still have some left to play with (apparently I bought a bit too much ROFL). Anyhoo, the picture, stickers, layers of paper, bellies, oh all of it came together just the way I pictured. Believe me, that doesn't happen often.

Alrighty so last on the list is a bloggy break. Yeah I think I need one. I feel like I could be doing so much more here on my blog and I want to do more. I have lots of ideas, but rarely the time to really flesh them out and make them happen. So I've decided I'm going to take some time to do so.

Throughout November I'll be here to update with events going on and hoping to participate in a month of gratitude. I have to find the blog where I saw this and go back, but I really don't need any guidelines to know I should really be making an effort to be thankful for all the wonderful things God does in my and my family's lives on a daily basis. I also know there is a Create Art Everyday for Month going on somewhere too and I'd like to get at that. I need to get back to doing a tad bit of creating just for the fun and play of it.

The last thing I'll be working on is setting up my online store....yes, an online store!! I've wanted to have one for a very long time and I feel the nudge that now is just as good a time as any. I'll be stocking my store with handmade embellishements, tags, cards, canvases, journals, and more! I do hope you'll share in the excitement with me when I open.

The Best Gift



This LO was created using a sketch by my great friend and skecth artist Lucy Chesna. You can find daily sketch inspiration in the forum at A Walk Down Memory Lane. Just think, if you visited everyday you would have 365 new sketches at your fingertips!

Couple of Close Ups



I used the Tinsel and Twig line for this page and really love the traditional colors and feel to this paper. I punched the snowflakes using my Martha Stewart punches and added some elegant buttons. I also really have been loving using the same patterned paper to just pop up with dimension. My girl Sasha rocks this out!



The twine I used is from the Twinery and the trim at the bottom is The Girls' Paperie, so are the letters.

Love the fun mix of papers this line has and the colors are some of my favs together, especially that green!

All in an Hour and a Half!

This past Saturday night, My Sketch World had a mega 90 minute crop. There was a LO sketch posted for the first hour and then 3 card sketches came for the half hour. Talk about a rush! I hadn't planned on participating at all, but about 15-20 minutes into it, I popped on board and was like why not give 'er a try! My gosh I had stuff flying everywhere LOL!!!

Here is what I managed to come up with:

Hangin' With My Ghouls

I love these Halloween paper from The Girls' Paperie. The colors are traditional yet all the patterns are really versatile.....well except maybe the bat one! They worked out perfectly for this cute lil' snapshot of my DD at her school's Family Fun Night in October.

Couple Close Ups

You should have seen those chipboard letters flying here, there, and everywhere when I was looking for the letters I needed! Oh my! I cut out some bats from the scrap I had left after cutting the circle, outlined them, and popped them up.

Do you see those little black embellies?? Not the great big one, that's a button, but the small ones. I made those!! I used some molds and black UTEE to create pearl like things and then some cute little stars. I am totally hooked on using UTEE and have been playing a lot.

Here are the cards I made, I was only able to get 2/3 done, but I was really pleased that I accomplished that! The twist to the challenge with these sketches was to not only get them done in 30 minutes but to also use your scraps from the LO.

I so didn't need to have any Halloween cards on hand, LOL, but I guess I'll be extra prepared when next year rolls around, huh?!

It's a Reveal Day!!

Happy Saturday to you! We finally have a sunny day here and I am super excited about that! I am also excited today because I get to share with some projects I have been working on for My Sketch World and A Walk Down Memory Lane.

Lucy, the owner of My Sketch World, posts amazing sketches, for both LOs and cards on the 1st and 15th of every month. So, with today being the 15th I have a lovely new card to share with you.



I totally wish I could sew so I have been really relishing in all the new tailored and sewing theme products that are available now. The stamp I used is from The Girls' Paperie and so is the patterned paper. I attached the eyelet skirt using the Tim Holtz Idea-ology tiny attacher... I am in love with this tool and it is available in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store!

The pleat shown here and the flower were both made using the yummy fabric paper from American Crafts from the Dear Lizzy line.

I have been sharing projects from AWDML using Jenni Bowlin so far this month and now it's time for me to share a project from the other featured manufacturer this month, Stampavie. The stamps they offer are full of wonderful detail and I enjoyed working with them.

Cards on Monday

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you all had beautiful Mother's Days. My kids blessed me by opening up their piggy banks and giving me a day of shopping at an LSS I go to on occasion. I thought this was just the sweetest thing in the world since they did this all on their own because my husband was out of town. I had lots of fun shopping with them and then we grabbed a bite to eat, some ice cream, and a couple movies.

I thought I'd share a couple cards I have made recently. It was hard to go through and figure out what to share because I have been a creating lunatic these days! So many fun things going on right now in the online scrappy world! Thanks to all who have stopped by, left lovin' and comments and are playing along with the Let's Scrap blog hop! I can't wait to see what all you create!

Welcome Baby



This card is one I made for my own challenge over at Dixie Pieces NSD crop they have going on right now. My challenge is to use a banner on a card or LO. I was then also able to use this card at the Citrus Tree Studio crop that just passed. I used some papers from The Girls Papiere, along with some Jillibean Soup, and some American Crafts embellishments.

Let's Scrap Wednesday

Hi Everyone!! It is a gorgeous day today and I just couldn't be happier or more thankful for that!

Well, it's Wednesday and that means there is a new sketch up at Let's Scrap today! This week Kimmy has created a delightful card sketch for you to use and Apron Strings is offering up some yummy goodies to one lucky participant!

I made a non traditional birthday card for DH whose birthday just passed on Monday. He has received soo many regular ones from me, I decided I needed to do something different!

I just love the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy line and I also discovered this new line by The Girls' Paperie!! they went so well together... now if only my new Little Yellow Bicycle would get here I would be one happy as heck scrapper!!! LOL! These 3 lines are going to mesh B-U-tifully!!!



I added a little dimension to the stuff I fussy cut out and just couldn't resist using a bit of one of the Sassafras banners from the Cherry delicious line!! I just love those!



My favorite part of this card is DH and my names!! I spell my name with 2 Ts so I had to square it! LOL! I couldn't believe it worked out so well though and just had to have the birdies beak to beak!
