Friday Haps

What's shakin' blog friends? Not much here. We survived the first week back to school, have had quite a few football games to attend at the high school, and DD is at her first official dance tonight. It's amazing she actually got out the door with all the clothes changing that was going on, LOL! Oh I remember the days well.

So let's see, I just posted my second Donna Salazar class over at Scrapbook News and Review on the front page. Here's a snibble of what's in store for you:

In other scrappy news, the ABC crop is in full swing over at My Sketch World. The first week deadline is the Sunday night at midnight Eastern time. I haven't even started yet, but that's okay because this weekend is free of new challenges. Perfect time to catch up or join on in if you haven't yet.

Finally some projects to share. These are from last year toward the beginning of the school year. I don't think I've shared them here so now seemed like a good time. =)

Favorite Teacher



Lots of October Afternoon goodness on this LO. I mixed some Cherry Hill with Report card and threw in some Jillibean Bean as a background. I had a blast digging through my stash to find all sorts of school related embellies to include on this page and then I layered away.

10 Cool Things About You



This Lo is a mix of Sassafras Lass and Jillibean Soup, along with some Cosmo Cricket rub-ons and Sass chipboard. I was thrilled with how this page came together and since 2 years have passed since I did a page like this about my son, I guess I better get at it again, huh?

And since our county fair just wrapped up over Labor Day weekend, how about a set of county fair inchies to end the day with.



Very simple, but will certainly be a cute accent to a project with our fair pictures or maybe an art journal page with these on it and some journaling about the tradition we've started since moving to our town.

All of the above projects were previously published in past issues of SNR.

Some People I Love

Happy Monday! I am a bit thrown off, I can't center my post text, LOL! Not sure what's up with Blogger, but the option isn't here so on we go.

I totally didn't get as many posts done as I had hoped to since the last time, but I am creating up a storm all the time and will be content to share when I can.

I have some LOs today featuring pictures of me and some people who have a special place in my heart. These were both done for the January issue of Scrapbook News and Review Magazine. Speaking of the mag, I'll have some news to share about that at the end of the post.

For now, on to the LOs!

First up is a LO using a picture of me and my bio Grandpa. I just met him for this first time this past Fall and it was a really tremendous experience.

He's Been Waiting For Me

The call for this LO was to use only patterned paper. I had such a great time combining Echo Park, Crate Paper, and even a bit of Sass Lass to create this. Lots of fussy cutting went into this page, right along with a heapin' load of pop dots.


I love this little girl from Sass Lass. She was perfect for this page. The flower centers have a bit of puffy paint added to them. I have so much puffy paint it's ridiculous!


Title work. Love that deer!


Isn't my grandpa adorable? He has the softest skin ever and one of the kindest hearts.

This next LO was based off one of the SNR sketches for staffers to use and I decided to play with some paints on this one.

Always in my Heart


This is a LO of me and one of my past students. She stayed with our family for some time during her 8th grade year and my love for her just grew even more. She will always be close to my heart and I will ever think of her as a daughter.

I used some Ranger and Claudine paints, along with some Liquitex Fluid Acrylic Inks.
I used Jillibean Soup and October Afternoon goodies on this page. I love that I used all scraps and odds and ends of stuff.


These artisan elements by Pink Paislee are a fav of mine. At the moment I am pretty selective about what projects I use them on. I am enjoying hoarding them, LOL! I added some alcohol inks to it.

E is for Event

The challenge for the ABC crop at My Sketch World was to create a card for an event. This was a super fun challenge because my honorary SIL just had an adorable little baby girl. Certainly an event worth making a card for. I can't wait to send it out tomorrow! I was hoping for today, but that just wasn't in the plans. Anyhoo, here's what I created:

Welcome to the World

I used some October Afternoon Fly A Kite papers for this card and a Jillibean Soup journaling sprout. The little dress is from American Crafts. I have had the roses in my stash for years and am finally putting them to use!

More Jillibean Soup Projects to Share

Happy Sunday to you all! I hope you are taking some time today to relax and enjoy.

I really loved working with Jillibean Soup products this month for A Walk Down Memory Lane and have a few more projects to share before we get to the next round of reveals for the stamp featured manufacturer coming tomorrow.

Just You {N} I

For this LO I used Jillibean Soup Chicken Noodle Soup papers. I'd have to say I think they are my favorite. I just love the colors. I also used some Soup Staples papers. The twill ribbon up top is Jillibean as well.


I layered 2 Jillibean Soup Journaling Sprouts and used my Marvy cricle punch to create the extra circle. The cherry stamp is from October Afternoon with some Martha Stewart glitter added to it.

For the title I used Ranger crackle paint in Fired Brick and then went along the edges of the chipboard with my black Sharpie marker. The chipboard letters are from The Girls' Paperie.

My Sweet Swinger

For this LO I used Jillibean Soup Egg Drop Soup patterned papers. I really like the soft sweet colors. Perfect for my lil' peanut and other Spring pages. The letters are a combination of Jillibean Soup (the tiny blue ones), American Crafts Thickers (pink ones), and Prima (the large white glittered covered ones).

I cut out he umbrellas from a sheet of patterned paper and layered them up with pop dots.

I just love this little house and tree. This was cut out from a sheet of the patterned paper as well.

Jillibean Soup and a Crop

Happy Saturday Blogger Friends! Today I am going to share with you some projects I created featuring jillibena Soup products. Jillibean Soup is one of the featured manufacturers this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane so you will receive 25% off these fab products! Hogs N Kisses:


This is the card I created for my sketch inspiration challenge which is currently up on the DT blog. You can see the sketch here. I just love this fun Chicken Noodle Soup line. The colors are so bright and bold and the patterns are super fun. Perfect for all those county fair, farm, and garden photos you may have lying around.

Close Ups:

I cut the pig out and then layered on an additional cut out head and snout to give this cutie lil' piggy some dimension. The journaling sticker I used for the sentiment is from the matching cardstock stickers for this line and the heart is from the Jillibean cardstock alpha stickers.


Gone Country:


This is another Lo featuring the Chicken Noodle Soup line, can you tell I just love it??! My daughter took this picture of me and I love the way it turned out. It was perfect to share how I have gone from a city lovin' girl to a down home country girl. Don't get me wrong I still love going to the big city, I just am soo happy to not be living there any longer.

Here you can see my journaling for this page and the cute little barn cut out. I really like this brick paper, don't you? The ric rac is also from Jillibean Soup and came with 3 other fabulous ribbons.

Here are those fab daisies and piggy again.... I told you I loved them! LOL!! And isn't that tractor just cute? I added some pearls to give it an extra little touch. All the letters used are from Jillibean... the smaller ones come with the cardstock sticker set for this line and so did the circle sticker. I outlined the letters for the word country with my Sharpie so they would pop a little.

Cards on Monday

Happy Monday Friends! Hope you all had beautiful Mother's Days. My kids blessed me by opening up their piggy banks and giving me a day of shopping at an LSS I go to on occasion. I thought this was just the sweetest thing in the world since they did this all on their own because my husband was out of town. I had lots of fun shopping with them and then we grabbed a bite to eat, some ice cream, and a couple movies.

I thought I'd share a couple cards I have made recently. It was hard to go through and figure out what to share because I have been a creating lunatic these days! So many fun things going on right now in the online scrappy world! Thanks to all who have stopped by, left lovin' and comments and are playing along with the Let's Scrap blog hop! I can't wait to see what all you create!

Welcome Baby



This card is one I made for my own challenge over at Dixie Pieces NSD crop they have going on right now. My challenge is to use a banner on a card or LO. I was then also able to use this card at the Citrus Tree Studio crop that just passed. I used some papers from The Girls Papiere, along with some Jillibean Soup, and some American Crafts embellishments.

The Greeting Farm stamps

Have you ever seen the stamps made by The Greeting Farm?? They are absolutely adorable and available in the A Walk Down Memory Lane store. I had a blast creating some cards with them and a few cutie tags for gift bags.

Altered Composition Books

Well, as promised I am back tonight with the altered composition notebooks I made for my kiddos. They both were completed using We R Memory Keepers products, which are on sale this month at A Walk Down Memory Lane for 25% off!!!

Here is the one I made for Whitney:



Her favorite color is blue, so this paper was perfect for the background. Plus it already had the little flowers on it so all I had to do was add some buttons!



Aren't those birdies cute?? I fussy cut them from one of the papers. The letters I used are from Jillibean Soup and they are also available in the store!

Next up Malik's Notes



I have used this fab grungy boy paper for a number of things for him and he loves how it is full of cars, iPod images, and other likes of a teenage boy!

DT Reveals!!

Happy Thursday!!

Today is the first, so that means Lucy has put out a couple of great new sketches for you to work on. Here is the card I created based off this first half of the month's sketch:



I am just so in love with all things Sass.. Sassafras Lass that is!!! These papers are from the new Cherry Delicious line mini deck!!! LOVE it!

Yesterday passed without me being able to post my reveal for Let's Scrap and again I am rockin' out with the Sassafras Lass!!!! I was sooo elated I decided to grab one of their warehouse boxes and share it with a friend online..... thanks Cathy!!!!! I was just overjoyed with all the scrappy goodness in the box!! For sure worth it!

So anyhoo, Cheri put out another fabulous 2 pager sketch and I decided to get a little creative with it! I turned one side upside down and flipped the photo.... add in lots of fussy cutting and details and this is what you get:



I just love my DDs eyes and the fact they look EXACTLY like mine makes it even better!!
